Acceptable Use Policy

Effective and last updated: October 15, 2026 · PullSubtitle (www.pullsubtitle.com)

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes what you may and may not do with PullSubtitle. It forms part of our Terms of Service. PullSubtitle retrieves captions, transcripts and public information from videos that are already publicly available; it does not generate images, video or synthetic voices.

1. Permitted uses

You may use PullSubtitle for lawful purposes, including: - research, study, note-taking and language learning; - journalism, commentary, criticism and fact-checking, with appropriate attribution; - accessibility, such as creating captions or readable versions of videos; - repurposing, subtitling or translating content you created or are licensed to use; - competitive and market research based on publicly available content.

2. Prohibited content and conduct

You must not use PullSubtitle, or anything you obtain through it, to create, distribute or facilitate any of the following:

2.1 Copyright and trademark infringement

Republishing, selling or distributing other people's videos, transcripts, captions or comments in a way that infringes their copyright or trademarks, or removing attribution to pass off someone else's work as your own.

2.2 Pornography and sexually explicit content

Using the Service with sexually explicit or pornographic material, or to sexualize any person.

2.3 Child safety

Any content that sexualizes, exploits or endangers minors. We report child sexual abuse material to the relevant authorities.

2.4 Violence and hate

Content that promotes, incites or glorifies violence, terrorism or self-harm, or that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age.

2.5 Impersonation and deepfakes

Using transcripts or voice content of real people to impersonate them, create deepfakes or synthetic media of them, or mislead others about who said something.

2.6 Harassment and privacy violations

Harassing, threatening, defaming, doxxing or stalking anyone, or compiling information about private individuals without a lawful basis.

2.7 Illegal and harmful activity

Fraud, scams, phishing, spam, malware, or any activity that breaks applicable law or card-network rules.

3. Using the Service fairly

You must not: - try to access private, unlisted-without-permission, restricted, paywalled or login-only content; - use bots, scripts, scrapers or automated requests beyond the features we provide (such as batch mode); - circumvent credit limits, rate limits or security measures, or probe the Service for vulnerabilities without our written permission; - create multiple accounts to collect extra free credits, or share, resell or sub-license your account; - use outputs of the Service to train or benchmark a competing machine-learning model; - violate the terms of the platforms whose content you access.

4. Enforcement

When we find or are told about a violation, we may take one or more of these actions, depending on its severity: - remove or disable access to the related transcripts and history; - warn you, or limit features such as batch mode or comment export; - forfeit credits obtained through abuse, including free credits from duplicate accounts; - suspend or permanently terminate your account and any related accounts, without refund where the violation is serious or repeated; - report illegal activity to law enforcement where required.

5. Reporting a violation

If you believe someone is misusing PullSubtitle, email contact@pullsubtitle.com with the subject line "Abuse report" and include the relevant links or details. We acknowledge reports within 2 business days, review every report, and tell you the outcome where appropriate. We do not reveal the reporter's identity to the reported user.

PullSubtitle does not host videos; it retrieves publicly available captions and information at a user's request and stores transcripts only in that user's private history. If you are a rights holder and believe material accessible through PullSubtitle infringes your rights, send a notice to contact@pullsubtitle.com with the subject "Copyright notice" containing: 1. your name and contact details; 2. identification of the copyrighted work; 3. the URL(s) of the video or material concerned; 4. a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law; 5. a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf; 6. your physical or electronic signature.

We will respond promptly, remove or block access to stored material where appropriate, and terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. Creators who want their content removed from the source platform should contact that platform directly.

7. How we moderate

We use a combination of automated and human measures: - Automated: every request requires a signed-in account; credit limits, rate limits and validation of supported links restrict automated or bulk misuse; usage records let us investigate signs of abuse such as duplicate accounts or unusual request volumes. - Human review: we review abuse reports, copyright notices and flagged accounts within 2 business days and decide on enforcement under Section 4. - Source restrictions: PullSubtitle only retrieves content that the source platform makes publicly available; private and login-only content is not accessible through the Service.

8. Changes

We may update this AUP as the Service and the law change. Material changes will be announced by email or in the product, and the date at the top of this page will be updated.
